Mapped: New Firework Restrictions in Czechia
From Dec. 1, Czechia will enforce new rules on where fireworks can be used. The Ministry of Agriculture has released an interactive map showing restricted zones to improve public safety and protect vulnerable groups such as patients, seniors, and animals.
Key Restrictions
• Fireworks are banned within 250 meters of hospitals, senior homes, care centers, animal shelters, rescue stations, and zoos.
• Small F1 fireworks (allowed from age 15) are exempt.
• Municipalities can introduce stricter local bans, though professional F4 and theatrical T2 pyrotechnics are not affected.
• All recreational fireworks are prohibited in national parks.
Sales & Regulations
• Fireworks can only be sold in permanent shops, except F1 items.
• Online sellers must verify the buyer’s age and competence.
• Authorities may seize fireworks for serious violations, with business bans up to three years.
Requirements for Event Organizers
• Notify authorities 7 days before professional displays and 5 days before public fireworks.
• Oversight is handled by the Czech Trade Inspection Authority and the Czech Mining Office.
Community Impact
The rules may affect holiday celebrations. Residents should check the interactive map to avoid fines, as zones may change. The aim is to reduce accidents and ensure fireworks remain safe and festive
