Starting October 1, 2025, the Czech Republic has introduced new rules for foreigners beginning a job under a standard work contract. These regulations are designed to ensure fair employment practices, protect employees, and provide greater transparency in the labor market.

From now on, both EU citizens and non-EU foreigners can officially start working only after all required documentation is properly registered with the Labor Office. While this means the process may take slightly longer, it also ensures that employees are fully protected from the risk of being classified as working illegally.
