New Cross-Country Bus Route Launches in Czechia with Stop in Prague
ahoy

Travel across Czechia has become more convenient with the launch of a new direct cross-country bus service connecting key regions, including northern Bohemia, Prague, Hradec Králové, Jeseníky, Opava, Ostrava, and Havířov. The newly introduced line 855, operated by FlixBus, began service in December and runs daily, improving regional mobility and reducing the need for multiple transfers.
On weekdays, the bus departs from Teplice at 9:50, Prague Florenc at 11:20, and Hradec Králové at 13:25, reaching Jeseník by 16:55, Opava at 18:15, and Havířov at 19:15. Weekend services operate with slightly earlier departure times. In the reverse direction, buses leave Havířov at 8:05, Jeseník at 10:20, Hradec Králové at 13:55, Prague Florenc at 15:40, and arrive in Teplice at 17:10.
Previously, travelers moving between northern Bohemia, the Jeseníky Mountains, and the Ostrava region often faced multiple transfers. This new direct route now allows smoother travel, saving time and making regional connectivity more efficient. According to FlixBus CZ commercial director Zdeněk Tesárek, the goal is to link smaller towns with major transport hubs like Prague and Ostrava, making travel more accessible and convenient for residents and visitors alike.
This development is part of broader transport upgrades across Czechia, enhancing nationwide accessibility. Passengers can now travel directly between northern Bohemia, Silesia, Prague, and Hradec Králové without changing buses multiple times.
New Direct Prague–London Route Launched
In addition to domestic improvements, FlixBus has introduced a new international direct bus service connecting Prague Florenc with London Victoria. The daily route passes through major European hubs including Nuremberg, Frankfurt, Maastricht, Brussels, and Lille, before crossing the English Channel via ferry between Dieppe and Dover.
Buses depart Prague at 10:50 and arrive in London the next morning at 09:10. The return journey leaves London at 23:00 and reaches Prague at 22:20 the following day.
Why This Matters for International Students
With improved transport connectivity, Czechia continues strengthening its infrastructure for residents, tourists, and international students. Easy and affordable travel within the country is an added advantage for those planning to study in the Czech Republic, making daily life more comfortable and accessible.
As one of the most affordable European destinations with quality education and strong student support systems, Czechia is increasingly recognized as a Best Country to Study for international students seeking academic excellence and a well-connected lifestyle.
