Czechia ushers in autumn equinox, with darker, snowy days ahead
ahoy

Czechia officially welcomed astronomical autumn on Sept. 21, as the equinox brought equal day and night across the northern hemisphere. After a record-breaking warm weekend with some regions topping 30 °C, a sharp temperature drop is now underway. Meteorologists predict cooler, rainy days ahead with highs below 20 °C this week, and single-digit lows expected by October. According to forecasts, Prague could see its first snowfall around Nov. 26, with December bringing regular snow showers. While the warm spell marked an unusual end to summer, the months ahead signal the start of long, darker days leading into winter.
