Autumn on Your Plate: Where to Taste the Season in Prague
ahoy

As the weather cools, Prague’s restaurants are celebrating autumn with menus inspired by the Czech countryside. Seasonal dishes highlight hearty game, wild mushrooms, roasted root vegetables, and sweet late-harvest fruits.
Venison is one of the main stars this season. Restaurants like Kuchyň serve slow-roasted venison with root vegetables overlooking Prague Castle, while Čestr offers a creative twist with deer meat langoš. Výčep Korunní presents elegant skewers of venison and mallard with hemp crumble.
Wild mushrooms are another autumn favorite, featured in buttery roasted dishes at Čestr and U Kalendů, or paired with spätzle in a rich, earthy sauce at Alma.
Root vegetables such as carrots, parsnips, and beets also take center stage. Štangl experiments with Czech wagyu and eggplant doughnut, while Etapa and Kro Vršovice craft vibrant plates of caramelized roots. For an Italian touch, Sugo adds roasted roots to autumn-inspired pasta specials.
To end on a sweet note, Prague’s dessert and cocktail menus embrace seasonal fruits. Pult serves plum and rosehip sours, Šodó offers caramelized apple and spiced pear desserts, and Myšák delights guests with pumpkin cappuccino topped with gingerbread.
This autumn, Prague’s top chefs transform local ingredients into comforting and creative dishes that capture the warmth and richness of the season.
