From world-class art exhibitions to international music festivals, Prague’s spring calendar offers one of its richest cultural seasons in recent years.

Prague is welcoming spring 2026 with an extensive lineup of cultural events spanning art, theatre, music, film, opera, and dance. The season features internationally recognized artists, large-scale exhibitions, global music icons, and citywide festivals that are expected to attract both residents and international visitors.

Among the season’s biggest highlights is the Czech debut of renowned South African artist William Kentridge at Kunsthalle Praha. His exhibition, The Battle Between YES and NO, explores themes of political conflict, exile, and hope through drawings, sculpture, film, and performance art.

Art lovers can also experience Prague’s first major Giorgio de Chirico exhibition in nearly a century at the Italian Cultural Institute, while the National Gallery Prague presents several large-scale exhibitions ranging from symbolism and religious art to contemporary interventions and historical photography.

The city’s cultural calendar also includes immersive exhibitions such as Life Behind the Walls: North Korea, one of Europe’s largest multimedia exhibitions focused on North Korean testimonies and refugee experiences. Open House Praha will once again allow visitors free access to rarely opened architectural landmarks and historic buildings across the capital.

In music, Prague’s spring season features performances by internationally acclaimed artists including Paul Simon, Eric Clapton, Louis Tomlinson, Glen Hansard, Flo Rida, Conan Gray, and Eros Ramazzotti. The prestigious Prague Spring International Music Festival returns for its 81st edition, bringing more than 60 classical music events to venues across the city.

The theatre and performing arts scene is equally active, with English-language productions, contemporary circus performances, opera premieres, and international theatre festivals scheduled throughout spring. Prague Fringe Festival and Theatre Night are expected to draw strong participation from both local and international audiences.

Film enthusiasts can look forward to the Prague Film Festival, Days of European Film, retrospectives dedicated to legendary directors, and themed cinema events across independent movie theatres in the city.

Open-air festival season also begins during spring, with major events such as United Islands of Prague, Prague Majáles, Khamoro World Roma Festival, and Praha Žije Hudbou transforming streets, parks, and public spaces into live performance venues.

The wide-ranging program highlights Prague’s growing reputation as one of Central Europe’s leading cultural destinations, offering a blend of international talent, local creativity, and accessible public events throughout the season.
